The Vagina Monologues
By Eve Ensler

A staged reading benefiting the CVIM Breast Health Program

May 24 & 25, 2023
7:00pm at The Speakeasy at the Gamble Mill
Bellefonte, PA

An Obie Award-winning whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone, THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who “liked to look at it."

This special event is presented in partnership with the Gamble Mill Inn & Suites. All proceeds will be donated to Centre Volunteers in Medicine Breast Health Program.

Stefanie Austin

Director, Producer

Stefanie is the President and a Founding Director of Sock & Buskin Theatre Company. Stefanie has a number of credits as an actor, director, playwright, and crew in a number of productions since 2014.  Most recently, you may have seen her as Maeve in S&B’s February dinner theatre 86’ed (which she also wrote) or as the director of S&B’s April production, Moon Over Buffalo. Stefanie feels honored to direct this moving and meaningful script for such a worthy cause. Thanks to the cast and crew for their talent, time, insight, and infectious energy; and her family for being exceptionally supportive of her theatrical pursuits.

Lilli Falcon

Assistant Director, Stage Manager

Lilli is a rising third-year PhD student in Educational Psychology at Penn State, originally from Miami, FL. Lilli would like to express her gratitude to her family and friends, to her roomie Zach, her fiancé Josh, and to all the wonderful people at Sock & Buskin for their continued love and support. This will be her second time as crew with Sock & Buskin and her fifth time being involved in an S&B production in some way. Lilli is so excited to serve as Stage Manager and is honored to be working alongside such a talented and dedicated group of women. Lilli hopes that the audience of The Vagina Monologues open their hearts and minds to the messages and stories told by these brave women and performed by our talented cast, and that they may allow themselves to embrace the rollercoaster of emotions, from joy to sadness and everything in between. All feelings are valid and welcomed here and Lilli will be laughing, crying, smiling, and sobbing right beside you all. Please enjoy the show!

Tara Caimi

Cast (Sock & Buskin debut!)

Tara is thrilled to contribute to Sock & Buskin’s staged reading of The Vagina Monologues benefiting Centre County Breast Cancer Coalition. She recently assisted with stage management for Sock & Buskin’s production of Moon Over Buffalo. Her prior theatre background includes the role of Baby Louise in a production she thought at the time was named after her cat, Gypsy; a brief role in college that she vaguely remembers because all her lines were in Spanish (which she does not speak); and a few sporadic box office and production roles over the years. In real life, Tara is a certified life coach, personal growth guide, author, and book coach. She holds a BA in journalism and psychology, an MFA in creative writing, and she is the author of the memoir Mush: from sled dogs to celiac, the scenic detour of my life.

Isako Di Tomassi

Cast (Sock & Buskin debut!)

Izzi is a recent Penn State alumna, and current research assistant in the Plant Pathology and Environmental Microbiology Department. She auditioned for this production with the hopes of fulfilling the bucket list item to "act in a play/movie/musical/something", and is elated to be doing so. Following this positive experience, Izzi hopes to participate in more productions when she moves to Ithaca, NY for graduate school in Fall 2023. Izzi would like to thank her supportive and wonderful friends who have encouraged her in this new endeavor, especially Ms. Kudla-Williams.
