Love, Loss, and What I Wore: a Staged Reading

April 16 & 17, 2025  | 7:00pm | Gamble Mill Speakeasy (Bellefonte, PA)

We are partnering with the Gamble Mill for our third annual charity performance, an exclusive staged reading of Love, Loss, and What I Wore in the comfort of the Speakeasy! This piece features a collection of monologues and ensemble pieces exploring women, clothes, and memory, covering topics like mothers, prom dresses, bras, purses, and the love of wearing black, based on Ilene Beckerman's bestselling book.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Out of the Cold, a low-barrier homeless shelter that answers the call to serve those experiencing homelessness in our community by providing shelter, food, and support services during the transition to permanent housing.

A tribute from Ken Ludwig (Lend Me A Tenor, Moon Over Buffalo) to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s, A Fox On the Fairway takes audiences on a hilarious romp, which pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy denizens of a private country club. It's a furiously paced comedy that recalls the Marx Brothers' classics. A charmingly madcap adventure about love, life, and man's eternal love affair with...golf.

Join us for a FREE family-friendly Power House Open House event at the S&B Studio in the Nittany Mall (use Entrance A; we're across from Ville Billy's). NO RSVP REQUIRED!

Featuring live vocalists, complimentary refreshments, and information on our organization!

ALSO, we are encouraging all donors to donate to Sock & Buskin between 7:00pm and 8:00pm that evening as we attempted to win the Happy Hour Power Hour Prize...If we receive the most unique donors during the hour, we'll win an additional $500!  So if you can, please donate at least $10 during that time (you do not have to attend the open house to donate.)
