Synopsis: Big movie star Sherry has been attached to star in “The Next Week,” a gritty and explicit film about sex, loss, and longing. Unfortunately, her brother Jack was already cast as the male lead in the film. When Jack goes to confront Sherry and her agent about this, they’re forced to decide who wants the film more, and just how willing audiences are to suspend their disbelief.

Meet the Cast
Stefanie Austin
Sherry
Stefanie is the President of Sock & Buskin Theatre Company and is also playing “Sally (the assistant)” in The Appointment, their 10-minute skit in the festival’s Starlight Revue. Stefanie’s been an actor, director, and various other roles in a number of productions since 2014; her most recent role was as “Miss Scarlet” in SCCT’s Clue in April. Stefanie is also the playwright of S&BTC’s first murder mystery dinner theatre show, Sin-ergy, premiering this October. Off-stage, Stefanie works at Penn State Human Resources, plays soccer and softball, and enjoys spending time with friends and family, including her husband, Peter (who is always supportive of her endeavors), and their two kids and two dogs. Stefanie is so excited to be a part of S&BTC’s debut show and is looking forward to growing a positive, vibrant theatre community!
Hayden Yoder
Jack
Hayden has performed in community theater since 2017, when he played “Schroeder” in SCCT’s You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. His most recent roles were as “Dean Lumley” in SCCT’s Molly Howard Is No More and “Captain Lesgate” in SCCT’s Dial M for Murder. Hayden is super grateful to be performing again in this witty and risqué production of Sibbleger!
Melissa Brannen
Donna
Melissa is thrilled to be part of this historic first-ever production with Sock & Buskin Theatre Company. Melissa started working in community backstage as a “Munchkin Wrangler” at The Boal Barn Playhouse in 2007 with the State College Community Theatre and has since performed herself in over 25 shows including performances with the Nittany Theatre, Stone Arch Players, Tyrone Community Players, and No Refund Theatre. Her day job is at Penn State where she “makes research happen” by helping faculty secure and manage funding. As an empty nester who hunkered down during the pandemic, the rest of her free time is filled with passions that were rekindled, like cooking, reading, vegetable gardening, and gaming. Thank you to her husband Chris for running lines, her dogs (Winnie & Sammy) for being her audience, and her daughters (Emma & Sarah) who are always with her in her heart even if they can’t be at performances. She thanks the cast and crew for being welcoming, professional, and super fun. She thinks this is a great start to a top notch theatre company!

Kari Williamson
Director
Kari began performing in theatre productions in high school, playing in The Wizard of Oz, West Side Story, Reckless, Barnum and Kissing Sweet. In college she played Daisy in Rhinoceros. She is thrilled to rekindle her love of theatre, having recently appeared in SCCT’s productions of 9 to 5, Murd-arrrr, and Dead Tuesday. She is grateful for the opportunity to direct Sock & Buskin’s debut show.
Gregg Baptista
Producer / Stage Manager / “Intimacy Coordinator”
Gregg performed in and worked backstage on various high school and community theatre productions in his native Massachusetts and returned to theatre last year after a long hiatus. He was most recently seen as Mr. Green in State College Community Theatre’s production of Clue. He is excited to help launch Sock & Buskin Theatre Company as a member of its board of directors and to take part in its first production, Sibbleger.
